What does it take to become a TDI-certified data scientist?
We’ll ask you all the usual questions about your education and work experience, your preferences for part-time or full-time, and other details that help us determine if you meet the basic qualifications for the program.
You must have at least one of the following:
- A Master’s degree completed before the program begins
- A PhD degree completed before the program begins
- A PhD degree that will be completed within 3 months of the conclusion of the program
- A Bachelor’s degree and extensive experience in a data-related position
We highly encourage you to apply by the early decision date. We view applications on a first come, first served basis, and the sooner you get yours in, the better chance you have of moving forward and earning money off your tuition.
We do not currently provide sponsorship or work authorization for International students and our tuition support and financing options are only available for students that reside in the US.
Once you’ve completed your application – and you have to finish the general application on time to move forward – you’ll move to the coding challenge.
If you’re looking to apply for one of our limited tuition-free waivers, you’ll need to submit a skills challenge. If you’d prefer to skip the challenge and just apply as a regular paid student, you may do so.
This challenge is designed for you to show off your current abilities. You’ll get 72 hours to complete the challenge once you start, so make sure you’re prepared to give it your all. The challenge will close for all applicants after the application closes regardless of the time you have left.
Keep in mind: You don’t have to finish all of the challenges, but you do need to do as much as you can. We look at the quality of your work as well as the quantity. And make sure you save as you go. You can come back and continue your work during those 72 hours, but the last time you save is the version we’ll look at.
After the you submit you application (and the optional coding challenge if you choose), we’ll contact the most promising candidates to set up a time for an online interview with our instructors and staff.
Those who have submitted the coding challenge and show the most promise during the entire application process may be awarded one of our limited tuition-free spots—so put your best foot forward! Here is where you could pitch us a capstone project and tell us why you think you’re the right candidate for the program.
Check out this handy infographic to get some of our best tips and tricks for doing well during your interview.
Tuition-free spots are limited, but that’s not the only way to attend our program. We now offer income sharing agreements, which allow you to pay your tuition after you’ve secured a job and are earning more than $40,000 per year. Check out the details.
